Brilliant Labs today announced the launch of Halo Glasses, a new generation of privacy-first smartglasses. Built on the belief that the most personalized experiences begin with trust, Halo Glasses feature an open-source architecture with on-device processing at its core, giving users greater control over their data while enabling experiences that are more personalized, helpful, and private.

That foundation powers an entirely new kind of experience. Halo Glasses introduce Narrative, a new category of adaptive gaming that transforms the real world into an open-world game that continuously evolves with each player so that everything you see, do, and explore becomes part of the experience. Narrative responds to your actions, decisions, and discoveries in real time, creating a personalized gaming experience that adapts endlessly.
“The future of intelligent wearables starts with trust,” said Bobak Tavangar, CEO of Brilliant Labs. “Halo Glasses are built to protect that trust while using intelligence to help people engage more deeply and playfully with the world around them.”
Private, Adaptive AI Enables an Entirely New Kind of Experience
At the heart of Halo Glasses is Noa, a personal AI companion that builds long-term memory around what matters to each user, learns from patterns over time, and responds conversationally in real time. Rather than resetting with every interaction, Noa carries context forward, allowing ideas, progress, relationships, and play to compound naturally. The result is an experience that becomes more personalized and engaging each time you interact with it.
Halo Glasses are built around three core experiences:
- Ask. Talk to Noa naturally, like a personal AI assistant that’s always with you. Ask questions, explore ideas, and get context in the moment. Memory carries forward, so conversations build, preferences are remembered, and interactions pick up where you left off.
- Make. Build mini-apps and custom workflows using just your voice, sharing what you make with the Halo community on its App Store. Describe what you want, and ideas take shape in real time. Creation feels immediate and flexible, without needing code or technical setup.
- Play. Halo Glasses’ flagship game experience, Narrative, turns everyday moments into the game of life, where ordinary moments become opportunities for discovery, collaboration, and play. The game evolves as you do, shaped by your choices, ideas, and actions over time.
A New Kind of Game Requires a New Kind of Hardware
Built as a modern, all-day wearable, Halo Glasses function as the console for Narrative, featuring a full-color microOLED display, microphones, bone conduction speakers, optical-grade lenses, Bluetooth 5.3, on-device AI, and up to 14 hours of battery life. Weighing just over 40 grams and engineered for balance and comfort, Halo Glasses are designed for continuous, real-world wear.
Halo Glasses are built with a privacy-first architecture anchored by on-device processing. Core functionality runs locally whenever possible, minimizing reliance on the cloud while giving users greater control over their data and personal context.
That same privacy-first approach extends to how Halo sees the world. Its low-resolution image sensor gives Halo visual context without functioning as a traditional camera for photography or video. Think of it as visual note-taking: Halo can see, understand, and remember what you see, while the images themselves are processed privately on-device, immediately discarded, and never stored.
Brilliant Labs designs and manufactures Halo Glasses from the ground up as a fully integrated system spanning industrial design, sensors, battery performance, and system intelligence. A custom AI stack combines real-time conversational intelligence, long-term memory, and dynamic tool creation, allowing hardware and software to operate together while preserving user privacy.
Built on a fully open-source hardware and software foundation, Halo Glasses and their AI companion Noa invite developers, creators, and the broader community to extend, remix, and shape the platform over time in a transparent, privacy-first way. Rather than being dictated by a single studio or static design, the platform evolves alongside its users.
